I have a short 3ft tall coop that is easy to lift up and move around, so when i need to clean it i just pick it up and move it somewhere else so that I don't have to touch the droppings. My grass loves me for it :)

I have a 93 yr old client, i do her hair every Friday. She always tells me these type stories. She and her husband also had 400 laying hens. Lots of stories about farming, fetching water, no electricity, ironing clothes using a wood fire, the first person to have a car in our town, the first telephone. We are from a small country place called Calvary. I got to thinking one day as she was telling me one of her stories, "You know, after a few more years, there will be no more of these stories. The old ways will slowly be forgotten....the stories will go quiet. It makes me tremendously sad. This is our culture.

Our chicken poo is still prized compost to anything we plant.
